Hottest Classrooms
This was the first article I wrote in Journalism. If I wrote it now, I could have done a much better job. However, I thought this was a good article for beginning journalists like me to practice with. I learned how to interview adults and write thoughtful interview questions. I also learned how to research websites to find information about the topic I was writing about. This article gave me lots of insight to what my future stories would be like, and it definitely helped me learn valuable skills about writing features articles.
Spring Concerts
From this article, I learned how to write an article from two very different angles. The first one I wrote was a list of the songs. The second one focused on the highlights of each night, along with what the music director Mrs. Haslop thought of her students' performances. I enjoyed writing this article because I heard each of the songs at the concert and felt the music while writing. I also enjoyed writing this because I performed in the concert as part of Chamber Orchestra and I understood how hard students have to work to "shine."
Leadership MB - H2.0 Stations
From this article, I learned how to embed a short list in an article without making it sound like a list. I varied the sentence structure in the second to last paragraph to name the winners of the contest. I also learned more about Internet research. I got most of the information from this paragraph from Leadership MB's website. I enjoyed writing this article because I am passionate about the environment and I thought a lot of the information I found was very interesting.
